Connecting to the Natural World
I’ve been a web editor at UC Davis since 2000, and have a passion for finding compelling stories about people and their work. I like to team up with creative writers to figure out what the audience really wants to know.
With a father who was a biologist, I was drawn to the natural world as a child — and I still am. My favorite nonprofit is the , which delivers outdoor science education to schoolchildren in the Sacramento region.
My history at UC Davis began in 1989 after 15 years working as a journalist at several California newspapers. I got to know the campus as the faculty-staff editor and later worked as a public information representative to the media.
What inspired me to do what I do?
I like to ask questions. And I like to hear stories. Who would have thought I could make a living doing this?
My longtime ambition is to work with a developing country on an educational project that makes a difference in their people’s health, well-being and quality of life.
Really bad romance novels.
