Oct. 11, Sunday -- Block parties will be held all over Davis from noon to 9 p.m. during the annual Davis Neighbors' Night Out. This informal event, organized by the City of Davis, UC Davis and the Associated Student and pupils of UC Davis, encourages neighbors to gather and get to know each other through activities like potluck dinners, barbecues, cookie exchanges and ice cream socials. The event began in 2005 as a pilot project to help students and neighbors develop positive relationships. More than 130 activities have been registered this year. For more information, visit .
