What made you choose UC Davis?
I went to vet school and did my residency here so it was a bit like home. When the opportunity arose, I applied for the position as we were missing Northern California.
What inspires you?
All of the brilliant colleagues that I have who forge new paths and seek new solutions to problems within veterinary medicine.
What research are you currently working on? What makes it unique?
My position is a little unique in that it is a 70 percent clinical position at the teaching hospital. As such, I don’t have much in the way of research obligations at present, but I am interested in joint disease in dogs and cats and would like to focus on developmental joint diseases, including osteochondrosis and the treatment of OA in affected joints.
When not in the classroom or clinic, or conducting research, what do you like to do?
I love camping, traveling and going on small and large adventures with my family.
